Gold Rush(feat. Cherryholmes) - Cherryholmes/Christoffer Olsson/G2
It was eighteen ninety eight near the Yukon river
There walked a man out there in the cold
On the chillkoot trail he's headed for the white pass
With the hope of having luck to find some gold
Despite of winter chill he started to climb
With iron will he got up through the snow
And God showed it getting cold upon the mountain
When you don't have a place where you belong
He got down on his knees in that cold white snow
And he couldn't see another soul around
He thought of those sweet summer nights in Georgia
As he watched the northern lights go down
Then he found his strength to look for shelter
And he built a fire that he lit
God burn his life for some reason that winter
And the two old mules he travelled with
And the cold wind moaned and echoed through the pines
It was a hard man's work working in those minds
Many tried in vain
Because the times were tough
Those days during the gold rush
Winter turned to spring and he built himself a cabin
Near the Yukon river banks out in the woods
Oh life was hard in Klondike Alaska
But he did the best a young gold miner could
The years they passed him by and his search was in vain
But he still felt the call of the wild
So he stayed there by that mighty river
For fifty seven years until he died
And the cold wind moaned and echoed through the pines
It was a hard man's work working in those minds
Many tried in vain 'cos the times were tough
Those days during the gold rush
