It was bright and it was burning

The fire in his chest

He was smart and he was cunning

He thought deeper than the rest

It was sweet and it was warm

The spirit in his eyes

I guess some things have to die

To grow up farther

If you take something pretty

And you throw it in the mud

It might break and loose its blood

And lay there silent

But it is not the end he can make it live again

You see him rough you see him cold

He's someone you don't know

He's become hard and become bold

For reasons he won't show

You wonder how to make him change

But you know its not your place

You keep loving waiting for the day
