The April Spin - Ruarri Joseph
I shut my eyes as tight as time
And wished that you would be mine
I counted slow and long and low
For reasons soft and so fine
As the April spin collided with the atmosphere
And the sun became it's heavy jaded self
We escaped on air to grin and bare each sorrow
We met along the way
Unaware in the times that take us there
So in we fell the furthest kind
At home with all away in mind
And sure as hell and as we fell
Those precious days can be unkind
As my foolishness took hold and let the reigns go
I remember thinking how I'd let you down
As July sank only breaths away from shore
Then rose again once more
Unaware in the times that take us there
Never found myself a reason to get out of here
Never freer than when we see eye to eye
I'm home as far as home will let me be
And know it's not just me
Unaware in the times that take us there
