Minimal and yet threatening, "Dispatches" probes the deeper side of techno that challenges, complicates and fascinates. Intent on tickling latent anxieties and emphasizing the uncomfortable, "Dispatches" - a collection of Parker's singles (compiled on his Geophone label) - taps internal neurosis with weighty mid-tones and cavernous, heavily atmospheric filters. It's anchored by excellently produced grooves that seem woven out of neural membrane, monstrously organic and yet consisting of simple signals and transmissions.
