The pain was such that he felt like he wanted to climb the walls and hang from the ceiling, hence the title ‘Shoot Me Down’. The song is a bluesy number. ·The idea for the song ’Shake Me Up Judy’ comes from the Dickens book, Bleak House. The song is based on the deliciously nasty moneylender, Smallweed. Smallweed, who is supposedly paralysed and has to be carried around on a litter like and Eastern potentate, is usually attended by his granddaughter, Judy. On the command (Shake me up Judy), Judy stands behind Smallweed, wraps her arms around his trunk, lifts his body and gives him a good shake!
