This is another album of great songs delightfully presented by Bob Evans. The 'Free To Fly' Album is a collection of music that has come about as a result of song collaborations. There is a variation of styles and genres that covers Pop, Rock and Country.
· The album title, ‘Free To Fly’ is the title of the song lyrics submitted by Roy Hackers. Roy Hackers also wrote the lyrics to the love song called ‘Lady Of My Dreams’
· Roger Penkethman wrote the lyrics to ‘Starlight’, which is a song about star gazing.
· Ken Mood has three songs set to his lyrics on this album. The first is called ‘Bus Trip’, the second is called ‘Here Comes the Rain’ and the third is called ‘Sister Blue’. All three songs are Pop Rock songs.
· Three Lyricists from Sweden Lars Carlsson, Hans Sidén and Connie Jorgensen, have songs included on the CD. The Rock song, ‘Rock ’N’ Roll’ People’ and the Pop Song ‘Paperback Romance’ were by Lars Carlsson and Hans Sidén. The third song is a Country song called ‘Song For Living’ again by Lars Carlsson and Hans Sidén, but also with Connie Jorgensen.
· Mark Newbury provided the lyrics for the song ‘Where Do You Go?’. The song is in the style of Country Ballad.
·If you are wandering why such a bizarre title as ‘Shoot Me Down’, then imagine being in intense pain as Bob Evans was after undergoing Oral Surgery. The pain was such that he felt like he wanted to climb the walls and hang from the ceiling, hence the title ‘Shoot Me Down’. The song is a bluesy number.
·The idea for the song ’Shake Me Up Judy’ comes from the Dickens book, Bleak House. The song is based on the deliciously nasty moneylender, Smallweed. Smallweed, who is supposedly paralysed and has to be carried around on a litter like and Eastern potentate, is usually attended by his granddaughter, Judy. On the command (Shake me up Judy), Judy stands behind Smallweed, wraps her arms around his trunk, lifts his body and gives him a good shake!
